Bella and Rob came all the way from California to New York for their wedding. For them, it makes sense since all their family and friends live here and most importantly, it is where this beautiful couple found each other. Here's how they have fell in love in Bella's words,
"Rob and I met in Baruch College in New York City in 2004. Rob left college in 2005 to join the United States Navy but we remained good friends throughout. Our romance started in August 2008. We dated long distance for a year and a half since Rob was stationed in CA. In June 2010, I moved cross-country and that's when our relationship ultimately went into full swing. Robert proposed on the Intrepid in NY in August 2013. Since our family and friends all live in NY we knew that's where we would have our wedding. And... So we did on September 9th, 2014. A date which holds many symbolic meanings for us."
They've decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Fox Hollow, which is located in Long Island, New York. Since Bella didn't want to do any formal pictures before the ceremony, we had to shoot during the cocktail hour. There was some delay from the ceremony which resulted in me having less than half an hour to shoot all the formals. I would say that is usually very insufficient time for me to shoot formals. However, with the help of a very cooperative bridal party, families, and of course the wonderful couple, Bella and Rob, I was able to shoot within the given amount of time. As a wedding photographer, nothing makes my job easier than a couple that is truly in love. All I got to do is to place them under flattering light and find interesting compositions and the rest is done by the couple. Bella and Rob did exactly that. I've felt grateful to be a part of their wedding, and it was my honor to document their most precious day. Here is what Bella had to say about her big day,
"The day of the wedding was magical. My bridesmaids showered me with gifts and hair and make up started on time. JP in NYC photography came early and spent a lot of time in the hotel suite with me taking pictures of all the details such as my wedding shoes, dress, jewelry, getting ready with hair and make up and then individual shots of me in my wedding dress and bridal bouquet. The groom and groomsmen arrived on time and then JP took separate pictures of them. Everything flowed so smoothly. We took pictures before the ceremony and then had photos done during our first look and Ketubah (wedding contract) signing. It just felt so natural and so wonderful. I am so glad we have captured our most precious moments with JP. Afterwards, we enjoyed the reception to the fullest. JP was always there when we needed him to take a picture with family and friends. He was always following us around making sure he wouldn't miss a beat. He is very reliable and my husband and I felt very comfortable with him. He even snuck us out during the reception to take some extra pictures which I'm sure are going to be so gorgeous. We are so very grateful to JP for his hard work and are super excited to see the finished product."
